When I signed up in December they had a direct-CC option, where they took you to their own SSL site, so you could pay directly. You could try <a href="http://www.dreamhost.com/contact.cgi" rel="nofollow">contacting support</a> and asking what's up. Also, if you decide to sign up, google for some sign-up promo codes.
