Hi! Congratulations about your book! Blake just told me. Coincidentally I was just thinking about Barbara Greenwood, who is a member of my choir and a prolific kids' author. I was thinking I might talk to her about how to get started writing books for children. (I never know how to get started with things, which might be why I never do anything interesting.) Maybe I will talk to you too!

I remember there were such "directed reading programs" in the good old Soviet Union. Though, with proper connections, one always could obtain a few copies for private use, back then. Congratulations, anyways!

My son (10) is a reluctant reader, and I'd love to get him reading more. No learning disabilities that I know of, and he's plenty smart, but just hasn't been bitten by the reading bug.

What's your book about? Would you recommend it in my son's case? Will it be available via Scholastic's normal student book order forms in Canada?
