You Can Tell It’s the Start of Term…

…because I’m reduced to posting links instead of thoughts:
- EtherPad’s TimeSlider looks very cool.
- DSL Testing Studio: I’ve argued for a while that testing and debugging are the Achilles’ Heels of DSLs; here’s some welcome progress.
- A microprocessor that runs on air. See also Ted Chiang’s brilliant short story “Exhalation“.
- How to Build a Popularity Algorithm You Can Be Proud Of.
- Colorizing Wikipedia to show degree of trust.
- An annotated online bibliography of studies of test-driven development.
- Which supermarket checkout lane is fastest? Another example of what computational thinking really means.
- A brief history of mock objects. Useful if you’re a tester (even if not).
- The Computer Language Benchmark Game at debian.org compares execution time, memory use, and code size for a handful of benchmarks in many languages. Really wish there was some way to capture development time as well, but it’s still very useful.
And some sad news: unless the Pennsylvania State Legislature acts quickly, the Free Library of Philadelphia will close its doors in less than a month.
