Taking the train from Toronto to New York can take the better part of 24 hours all by itself. Seriously. Worse yet, somebody invariably does not speak English and has no idea that they require a passport to cross the border, holding everything up well beyond the regular two hours it takes to check an entire train. The bus is far superior in speed, but you also get _much_ more colourful characters. Here's hoping for the SF-LA bullet train on my coast. You should revise those estimates.
