That’s really cool, they should add the option to colour-match items to help non-color-coordinated people.
If I were to reproduce this:
1. Take a group of item images
2. Possibly run a filter to isolate edges and identify the “main” color(s) inside the central outlines (though most of the images seem to already be a single main colour)
3. store the color with the other info of the image
4. when a user clicks on a color, using a range (or algorithm for color-matching) to bring up the appropriate items.
