Computer Science Research Round-up Blogs?

January 5th, 2007

There are lots of tech round-up blogs out there, and some interesting corporate research blogs (Microsoft’s and Google’s come to mind), but I’m still trying to find a good aggregator for computer science research news.  CleverCS was aimed at undergrads, and is now 404′ing; Lambda the Ultimate is very good, but narrow (programming language design).  Anyone have pointers?

Greg — I see only one solution to this problem. Roll up your sleeves and start such a blog :-) Or maybe have your students do it as a project. I’m sure there would be very high interest in it. I was looking for book recommendations for high-schoolers who want to pursue a CS degree, and they’re very hard to find. Such a blog could offer pointers to such resources, and much more.

BTW, somebody wrote a Trac plugin that offers blogging functionality: http://trac.browsershots.org/wiki/SimpleBlogPlugin

Maybe you can include that in Dr.Project?

I came across the Academic Blogs wiki today and remembered this old post. I’m sure you’ve gone through most of these but just in case:
